These kinds of friendly, innocuous bot accounts are a big part of why Twitter remains fun to use, despite, well, everything about it. The idea for Wonder comes from University of Arizona student Jordan Singer and grad Shivkanth Bagavathy, who works full-time at Recruiting Ventures in Scottsdale, Arizona. The two team up together on a number of projects, many of which make their way over to Product Hunt, as the Wonder bot did recently. Companies and researchers realized that the bugs they discovered had more chances to stand out if the bug had a cool-sounding name. Named Vulnonym, the bot is operated by the CERT Coordination Center (CERT/CC) at the Carnegie Mellon University, the first-ever CERT team created, and now a collaborator and partner of the DHS’ official US-CERT team.
